Do You Listen To Your Heart?

Over the last two years in my quest to become a healthier person, I’ve started to do just that. I have started to listen to what my feelings are trying to tell me. Instead of pretending that they are wayward, potentially homicidal hitchhikers I can’t even make eye contact with on the side of the road so I blow past them doing 140 mph.

A Pregnant Pause

Written in 2012: Five years ago last night, I stood on the Labor and Delivery floor of Exempla Lutheran Hospital in Wheatridge, Colorado, hugely pregnant, bloated, contracting, bleeding, terrified, excited, sick of being pregnant, overjoyed to meet the little creature inside of me, and mostly just unsure about how this was all going to work. 

Generational Love

Written in 2014: Economic and political pundits like to talk about generational cycles of wealth and poverty. But, I'd like to add a more important generational cycle to that list (and it doesn't cost a thing)—generational love.
